Yummy! I took the advice of some previous reviews and fabricated a few changes...three cloves of garlic, 2 carrots, ii cans of craven goop, 2 cans of white beans, ane box of frozen chopped spinach, no summer savory. Didn't want to purchase summer savory for merely this recipe and so skipped it. Not sure what I might be missing with skipping that - oh well. I cut upwards two Roma tomatoes and that wasn't quite enough. Volition do four next time. Used had blender to thicken right in the pot so could skip the cooling off step - Dearest the hand blender!! Volition definitely make again. Thanks for the great recipe! And a wonderful spider web site :)

I just prepared this soup and it was a real hit! I fabricated the following adjustments: I added 2 chopped carmine potatoes every bit well as a can of chopped spinach, as suggested by previous reviewers. I also added a few shallots to the onion and garlic mixture. Additionally, I substituted veggie broth (I am a vegetarian). My hubby and I found the flavor and consistency to be excellent. He asked me specifically to add this to my 'rotation.' Plus- information technology's great for those of united states with the infamous "I will lose weight" New Year's resolution. Attempt information technology with a crusty multigrain breadstuff- Succulent!

I fabricated a few changes in the recipe since my wife is not a garlic lover. Since craven stock comes 4 cips to the container, I used iv cups of stock, one/2 half an onion. I also added an additional can of beans. ( for additional bean sense of taste) and added kale ( merely because I had some) instead of savory. and I dropped the corn. This fabricated an splendid soup. I used a mitt blender to blend some of the beans and information technology came out but the right consistency. This is definitely a tiptop drawer add on to whatsoever meal. Very easy to make and very salubrious eating. I highly recommend.

My husband (who is difficult to impress when it comes to cooking) said this was ane of the best dishes I've ever fabricated, and so information technology's prompted me to write my very first review. I made a agglomeration of small modifications: - threw in a good handful of fresh thyme (3 whole sprigs and the leaves off of well-nigh another iv-5 springs) - used fresh parsley - used a can of white beans and a can of white kidney beans. I left a little of the juice in the kidney edible bean can and all the juice in the white bean tin can - added a can of hominy (no juice) - cutting down on the craven broth to ii cans (4 cups) since I had the bean juice - used eight big grape/very pocket-sized roma tomatoes - added juice from i/ii lemon at the finish It was so flavorful, had lots of healthy veggies and just the correct amount of broth! Perfect for a cold evening. Will definitely make again!

This is tasty, but not quite as satisfying every bit I had hoped. I doubled the amount of beans as others suggested, only the soup was even so rather watery. I like the addition of the tomatoes, but will definatly reduce the corporeality of liquid in the hereafter.

This soup is AWESOME. We threw in a handful of barley and a little extra garlic (garlic lovers) but aside from that, it will remain in our family recipes forever and ever. Information technology is so good for you and so, so delicious. Make it at Christmas!

This is a really tasty soup! Information technology'southward very fast (every bit far as soups go) and easy to make. Side by side time I will use more beans though. I merely had 3 cups of chicken goop and then I used 3 cups broth and 1 cup water instead of the v cups goop and information technology was however really good. This would exist good with ham or salary likewise, if you wanted to add together a meat! Will definitely be making this again!

We actually enjoyed this soup. I followed some of the other suggestions, added spinach and some potatoes. I besides did not add one-half of the soup to the nutrient processor, I just left information technology all united nations-processed. Besides added were some butter beans and white kidney beans. Very tasty.

Tasty only it was too watery. Next fourth dimension I would but blend 1/4 of the soup instead of half. I added a bunch of torn upwards wheat staff of life to my bowl to make it thicker. Otherwise pretty tasty.
10/25/2006
Really Good! I took the suggestions of others and used vegitable broth, added more beans (and I mixed it up, northern beans, white kidney and garbanzo beans), potatoes, spinach and actress garlic. Very good!

Just fabricated this soup and was very pleased with the issue! I didn't let it cook for 2 hours, just boiled on loftier for about twenty min....long enough to make the veggies tender simply still a footling crunchy. I too added sliced kielbasa sausage and a few chopped celery stalks. My whole family (ane 1/2 year old included) loved it!

AH-MAZ-ING!! I took some tips from other reviewers... two cans of beans, 2 carrots, 4 cloves of garlic, subbed vegetable goop, no summer savory but added 3 med. potatoes cubed. I used the hand blender to puree right in the pot, then wen I found it was a flake thin as others mentioned, I added a small spoonful of flour to thicken it up a bit. It was PERFECT! YUM! I volition definitely exist serving this ane once more!!

I really LOVED this soup simply also made a few changes and followed what a few others have done. Used iii 1/2 cups chicken broth, ane 1/2 cps fresh spinach, 2 carrots, used canned whole peeled tomatoes and quartered them, definitely needs 2 cans of white beans. I also used five strips of morning star bacon (vegetarian bacon) which actually gave information technology the bacon flavor but withal healthy without the grease. I also used mitt electric blender only because we were very impatient and didn't desire to await for soup. Information technology turned out admittedly perfect and I think I may puree the rest tomorrow to see how that does. (My daughter loves it that way) Easy, tasty and salubrious!

Nice hearty soup. As others suggested, I used 2 carrots and 2 cans of beans. I used italian seasoning instead of thyme/savory/parsley and 4 cups homemade chicken broth with 2 cups water. It was banal as written, but subsequently calculation salt, black pepper, cumin, and paprika, it turned out expert. I as well added a scattering of wheat rotini towards the end to make information technology a picayune heartier.

This recipe was very flexible, allowing me to suit it to what I had on hand: oil/butter, frozen diced peas and carrot, ham, garlic, chicken broth, white beans, orzo pasta, frozen whole tomatoes from our summer garden, thyme, and parsley. I added a piddling chip more butter for seasoning and it was crawly!
01/20/2010
I loved the blender idea. I never knew how to go that consistency in my soups. I used dissimilar ingredients and also followed another review and blended only most 1/4 of the soup. Turned out neat. Cheers.
01/21/2011
Was ok, certainly not my favourite, I probably won't make it once more.
01/18/2009
Came out wonderful. Better the second day. I didn't have fresh tomatoes so I used a can of crushed tomatoes instead. Also omitted the corn, two cans of beans not really drained, and added zucchini. Didn't blend but still came out thick. Served with salad and fresh staff of life with butter. Will make this once more!

For fear of the soup being besides sweet, I used only one-half the amount of corn. I used dry white beans considering the tin can ones in the store had sugar in them. I baked a chichen and had a groovy repast. for leftovers I added the rest of the chicken into the remaining and served information technology with french staff of life, YUMMY!

Great start, though I admit I modified this recipe so much I might besides call it my own now. I sauted 1/2 a white onion, garlic cloves and a tsp of basil in the olive oil. And so added ii carrots chopped (no corn), then two cans of beans, ane xiv.v oz can of no salt diced tomatoes, 4 c of chicken broth and another spice blends I thought sounded good. Simmered for an hour, pureed and yum! Good for you and piece of cake. Great with grilled cheese
12/09/2007
This recipe was wonderful. I did make a few changes. I used a can of seasoned tomatoes, 2 cans of vegetarian broth, 2 cans of white beans, and iv small cut upwards scarlet potatoes. After information technology cooked and I blended one-half of the soup, I heated it up and added fresh spinach until information technology wilted. The flavour and consistency was perfect and I volition definitely make again.

This soup was great on a cold mean solar day! We added sausage, I think adjacent time we volition add some pasta too. Great recipe
11/13/2008

09/25/2012
Smashing recipe! I add potatoes, kale and substituted the carrots one night with sweet potato. You can really add what you want to information technology. I brand this weekly, my husband loves it and he doesn't eat white beans e'er!
05/xvi/2012
5 of the 6 in my family loved this. Rarely gets ameliorate than that!! Prissy switch from chili...well-nigh all different ingredients, just notwithstanding a nice, hearty soup. Since some of my family don't like tomatoes, I used a small can of tomato plant sauce.
03/05/2014
Pretty skilful, specially for a quick prep soup. It's a skilful base of operations and yous can have information technology in and then many directions. I took information technology into a fleck of a spicier direction. I used bootleg craven stock, added 1 can of white hominy, 1 tin of tomatoes, 1 tin can of white northern beans, ane tin of red kidney beans that were seasoned with cumin and lime, and added a tablespoon of the liquid from canned chipolte peppers with adobo sauce. Served it with a salad and crusty breadstuff. Stay cozy!
12/26/2008
Meh. Don't add corn or carrots if you're someone who likes the flavor of white beans. They distract. Maybe I'g a white bean purist. I similar my white bean soup beany and this was not information technology. I'll not make information technology again.
11/01/2011
This was very tasty and by blending half of the ingredients, it played a little pull a fast one on on my mind, making it feel even more than filling.
03/09/2009
Nummy soup! I loved the actress season that the corn brought a nice actress flavor. I followed the recipe exactly and I'grand glad I did.
07/20/2007
on existent cold winter days I'd probably add some bacon with the garlic and onions in the beginning.

I love this recipe--I get in all the time and freeze the extra. It's a perfect lunch with a piece of good toast. I employ veggie stock instead of chicken, making it vegetarian, and frozen corn instead of canned (which I think is healthier). I also sometimes used canned diced tomatoes if I don't accept fresh, and I never have savory, and so I employ whatsoever herbs I have on hand--normally thyme, sage, and/or oregano. This is very tasty and satisfying, and also low calorie and healthful.

This was good. Fabricated some changes: add together extra tin can of beans- both cans washed and drained beans first. Lots of actress garlic. Added 28oz can and its juices of diced tomatoes. One-half a box chopped spinach. And used simply 2 14oz cans of chicken goop. After using a paw blender to puree to thicker consisteny simply left some broth I added about one/2c dry alphabet pasta for the kids. Added a bit o fresh lemon correct earlier serving. Topped with Parmesan cheese in each bowl. Served with fresh bread for dinner. Yum!

Sooooo good! I am looking forward to making this once more. I served it to my family and extended family. Anybody enjoyed it. A refreshing dissimilar sense of taste from most soups....and I dear most soups.
01/19/2016
Family loved this! Actually piece of cake recipe, nutritious and delicious.I used behemothic lima beans(I soaked and precooked a bit),red kidney beans and instead of thyme I added Italian seasoning.Threw in some spinach and frozen corn, and used a tin can of tomatoes instead of fresh.Topped each bowl with a sprinkle of grated asiago cheese.Information technology's a recipe that you lot tin adapt to suit whatever you have on hand. The summertime savory in it is a nice affect. My husband raved about how expert it was.Volition arrive every week in the winter I remember.

Delicious! I doubled this recipe for our large family unit of vii - and added an extra ii cups of beans. Did not purée information technology, nosotros like it chunky! Yum!!
02/20/2019
Used three garlic cloves rather than ii, added a celery rib and a red bell pepper to the sauteed vegetables. used herbs de provence (1/ii t) instead of savory since I didn't take it on hand and reduce thyme to 1/two t since I am not a fan. Used five roma tomatoes bc I had them getting quondam anyhow (would probable sub canned tomatoes in future just for convenience). I cooked 1 loving cup of white beans from dry and used that with a petty of the juice. Might ry with added hominy or barley as some reviews stated. I concord that it is besides thin so would add less broth.
01/sixteen/2019
Did arrange the recipe a little bit - used twice equally many beans, didn't add the tomatoes, and didn't do the blending bit at the the end and information technology turned out bully! Side by side fourth dimension, I think I would add some ham every bit well.
11/05/2014
I love this but there's non a lot of flavour to the broth, it'southward balmy. I didn't have summer savory so maybe that would have fabricated a difference. I fade extra beans, tomatoes, chopped spinach, celery & potatoes. It's warm, filling, guilt free!

Just made this baby today! I have a new favorite soup now! I read the reviews and made some tweaks to the original: ii cans of beans, 2 carrots, added about 5 ounces of raw baby spinach nigh ten minutes before it was done, and the juice of nearly half a lemon at the end. I also switched out the summer savory (didn't take any in the house) for sage. Not sure nigh the comments about it being too sparse. I used the chosen for five cups and if it had been any thicker, information technology could qualify every bit stew! lol I also used the immersion mixer but, may accept used information technology a bit too long. No matter, it tastes wonderful!

Beloved it !!

Ah-mazing! I'm not a soup person just this was verrry good. I followed the recipe pretty closely except I added a bit more garlic, subbed in oregano for thyme (didn't take anny thyme), and skipped summertime savoury (also didn't take any). Soeasy and the prep fourth dimension is adequately

Wonderful soup! I didn't take fresh tomatoes so added a tin of petite diced tomatoes, some diced potato along with the corn. I used my stick blender only for a few seconds to thicken and smooth. Added some cumin and nutritional yeast. Yummy!
10/28/2013
If you lot dearest sweetcorn you'll love this. No more to say.
12/12/2014
This was groovy! Flavorful, hearty, nutritious, and slap-up for a wintertime repast! I would dear to brand this once again! Might I add together a few suggestions? Start, double everything except the broth. Y'all'd take information technology manner thicker and more flavorful. I would besides add together some onion pulverisation and chopped dark-green onion. Next, it would be useful to cook the carrots first, as they accept awhile to soften--otherwise yous get a surprise crunch in your spoonful. You lot might want to fully eddy the soup before letting it simmer. Lastly, instead of pureeing only half of the soup, puree ALL of it. It's thicker and you don't have to worry near evenly separating the batch. It's likewise useful if you have family unit members or friends who aren't partial to beans or sure vegetables--now they tin can't see what's in this delicious soup!

Added blood-red potatoes, shallot, used canned tomatoes,
